One more dead in Bardiya



Prem Lal Lamichhane, a resident of Bardiya, who was seriously injured at firing in Guleriya, Bardiya on Thursday has passed away while undergoing treatment in the Indian city of Lucknow. However, the authorities are yet to confirm Lamichhane\'s death. His death puts the death toll since the pro-demoncracy movement started two weeks ago at ten.

Meanwhile, preparations for the last rites of Basu Ghimire, 32, who was shot when police opened fire in Kalanki on Thursday are taking place at Pashupati Aryaghat. Basu Ghimire\'s, a member of Nepal Tarun Dal, Makwanpur, was reportedly alive when police took him and two other bodies from Kalanki to Kathmandu Model Hospital. It is reported that he died on the way to the hospital. Ghimire\'s body was identified by Nepal Tarun Dal members. When the doctors at Kathmandu Model Hospital and Teaching Hospital refused to perform post-mortem of his body without the presence of family members, the police took his body to Birendra Police Hospital, Maharajgung. The body was later identified and taken to Pashupati Aryaghat by Tarun Dal members. Ghimire\'s parents have refused to come to Pashupati and have requested that his body be sent to Makwanpur for cremation.

As we write this report thousands of protesters have gathered in Chabahil and Gongabu and are preparing to walk to Pashupati to pay their last respects to Ghimire. .-- END--
