Two dailies


Nepal is to get two new daily newspapers from 24 April. Nagarik is a Nepali language paper edited by Narayan Wagle while Republica, which has already been launched online, is an English language paper edited by Amit Dhakal. Both are published by Nepal Republic Media.

Hole in one
Purna Man Shakya won the Second Ruslan Vodka Golf competition held at the Royal Nepal Golf Club while Shastika Shrestha won in the ladies tournament. Seventy-nine golfers, with 12 women participants, competed for the prize?two round tickets to Bangkok.

New girl's hostel
The Embassy of Turkey has donated Rs7.9 million to Kathmandu University School of Management (KUSOM) to build a ten-room girl's hostel and other facilities at the school in Balkumari. It aims to provide better learning facilities for female students who live outside the valley.

French cuisine
Alliance Fran?aise in Kathmandu, the French language and cultural centre, is launching a new course dedicated to Hotel & Restaurant professionals or to students in that field. Focused on oral practice, and designed to meet the needs of hospitality and catering business, the levels are open to complete beginners or to people who already have basic knowledge in French.
