Power on hold


Hydropower development company, SN Power, has decided to reduce its staff in Nepal due to the lack of progress on new projects. The company which has been working exclusively in emerging markets in Nepal since the last 10 years, is a joint venture between Statkraft and Norfund. SN Power is currently negotiating with the government to develop Tamakoshi-3 (650MW) as it has already received power development agreement for the project. For now SN Power has decided to put on hold its new business and activities in Nepal while still retaining its engagement with Himal Power and working on the 67MW Kirne Project.

Upgraded ride
SG Global, distributor of Mahindra 2 wheelers in Nepal has introduced Rodeo RZ. It is an upgraded version of Rodeo with 125 cc Z series engine, which offers mileage upto 59.38 kmpl, mobile charger, under- seat lighting, side-stand buzzer and body coloured mirrors. The scooters are available in seven colours.

Coca Cola has received fifty million "likes" on its Facebook page. Using the new application on its Facebook page, individuals can collaborate with the company and other Facebook community members to develop ideas that help spread happiness around the world.

3D and more
CG Electronics, authorised distributor of LG in Nepal, has introduced new models of LG 3D Cinema TV. The high-resolution TV features battery free 3D glass along with smart features like 3D sound, internet connectivity, and wireless connections between TVs, laptops and PCs.

New partnership
NMB Bank and Gaurishanker Development Bank have partnered to provide NMB Bank's Local Cash Management System (LCMS) and remittance services. Now customers of both banks can take advantage of banking services from each other's branches. NMB Bank has 20 branches, one extension counter and 23 ATM outlets across the country.

Super hot wheels
HH Bajaj, the authorised distributor of Bajaj motorcycles in Nepal has launched Bajaj Pulsar 200NS in the market. The two-wheeler has been upgraded and is the first motorcycle in the world to adopt the triple-spark technology. The technology provides fast and optimal combustion, increased performance and efficiency. The Pulsar 200NS has a top speed of 136kmph and can accelerate from 0-60kmps in 3.61 seconds and from 0-100kmph in 9.83 seconds. It is available in black,red,blue, and yellow.

Safe and trendy
Morang Auto Works, the sole distributor of Yamaha motorcycles in Nepal, has launched an upgraded version of the Yamaha FZ-S with new safety features. The FZ-S has a large disc brake, monocross suspension, and new chain protector for better balance and safety on the road.
