Economy on mend

A new Rastra Bank report shows that Nepal’s external economy is on the mend with balance of inflow and outflow of goods reaching a surplus of Rs45.87 billion while foreign exchange reserves have improved at $9.82 billion. The country’s current account deficit has also improved to Rs37.91 billion and remittance has increased by 23% to Rs480 billion. But prices of goods have increased by 7.38%. And while imports have declined due to the government ban on luxury goods, so have exports, by 34.6% this quarter.
