Sarbottam scandal under probe

Following a Himalmedia investigation, Prem Kumar Rai, head of the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has launched a probe into Nepal Securities Board chair Bhishma Raj Dhungana.

Dhungana along with Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) CEO Chandra Singh Saud were allegedly involved in insider trading Sarbottam Cement shares IPO. The Finance Ministry has also asked for documentation on the dealings but is yet to hear back from both accused.
