KIMFF wraps up

The 22nd edition of the Kathmandu International Mountain Film Festival showed 65 films from 30 countries, on the theme ‘Fractured Voices, Reclaiming Narratives’. 

Sonam Yangzom won Best ICIMOD Mountain Film Award for Butterfly Bhutan, Manohar K from India won KU Emerging Filmmaker for Bird of a Different Feather, and Kenzi Tsukamoto won Best Mountaineering and Exploration Film for Ashima. 

Pham Ngoc Lan’s Cu Li Never Cries won Best International Feature Fiction, Yakin Tekintangac’s Mori won Best Short Fiction, Yi-Shan Lo’s After the Snowmelt won Best International Feature Documentary, and Dominique Syner’s Winter Taiga won Best International Short Documentary. 

Saurav Ghimire’s Songs of Love & Hate won Best Nepali Fiction, Saja Sunuwar’s Chhau won Best Nepali Documentary Award, and Kalani Gacon’s Family Man won the Audience Award.
