Three of the 13 ambassadors the government selected from applicants have dropped out due to controversial pasts or conflicts of interest. A Parliamentary committee had objected to Jigyan Thapa for Japan, Giri Sunar for Saudi Arabia and Chudamani Kharel for Malaysia.
