From Doha to Gatwick and Cardiff
Qatar Airways announced two new flight services to Cardiff, Wales, and Gatwick, London, in presence of Country Manager Jaya Prakash Nair and British Ambassador to Nepal Richard Morris.
At a press conference, Nair highlighted the airline’s commitment to bringing more travellers to Wales and London via Gatwick, and to connect the people of Wales and London to its extensive global route network via Hamad International Airport in Doha.
He said, “Cardiff and Gatwick has long been on our wish list of destinations to add to our global route map. We are tremendously excited to now be able to serve the people of Wales and South West England, London providing them with world-class service and seamless connections to the many destinations on our global route network. We also look forward to bringing travelers from around the globe to Cardiff, London enabling them to experience the many attractions this unique city has to offer.”
Richard Morris added, “We want to express our warmest welcome to Qatar Airways and its new route between Cardiff, Gatwick from Nepal. We welcome tourists from Nepal and beyond to enjoy Wales’ beautiful landscapes, traditions and culture. There are many great reasons to visit the stunning and diverse country of Wales, from innovative architecture, world class entertainment, quality shopping and exceptional museums to beautiful countryside featuring rolling hills, national parks and scenic coastlines.”
This season Qatar Airways will operate 95 flights to the U.K. per week, including six daily departures to London Heathrow, 16 weekly departures to London Gatwick and Manchester, and daily flights to Cardiff and Edinburgh, alongside seven flights per week to Birmingham.
The airline recently revealed a host of forthcoming global destinations in line with its expedited expansion plans, including the announcement that Qatar Airways will be the first Gulf carrier to begin direct service to Luxembourg. Other new destinations to be launched by the airline include Tallinn, Estonia; Valletta, Malta; Cebu and Davao, Philippines; Langkawi, Malaysia; Da Nang, Vietnam; Bodrum and Antalya, Turkey; Mykonos, Greece and Málaga, Spain.
