Tourist arrival in Chitwan’s Sauraha has increased since the government introduced a two-day weekend. Domestic tourists dominate on weekends, while foreign tourists account for around 70% of visitors on other days  — up from 40% the previous year. Sauraha’s 148 hotels have a capacity of 7,200 guests. To sustain growth, entrepreneurs stress road improvements between Chitwan, Kathmandu, and Bhairawa.
