The government is reopening duty-free shops at Tribhuvan International Airport after an 18-year absence following publication of the Customs Regulations 2026 in the Nepal Gazette. Licenses will be awarded through open competition via a 21-day public tender. Permitted goods include packaged food, cosmetics, and fragrances; alcohol remains excluded.
