The Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) is working to import 1,154 megawatts of electricity from India following disruptions to domestic power supply due to the recent floods. The imports will be done through the Dhalkebar-Muzaffarpur and Tanakpur-Mahendranagar transmission lines, among others. Last month’s Trisuli flood knocked out over 400MW from existing plants and last week’s landslides and floods disrupted generation and transmission, temporarily subtracting another 800MW from the grid.
