The government is planning to invest $49.9 million for flood early warning and glacial lake risk reduction from 2026-2033. Tso Rolpa, Imja, and Thulagi glacial lake levels will be lowered, and plans are underway to automate 503 manual weather stations, repair Doppler radars in Surkhet, Palpa and Udayapur, and install an X-band radar to cover Kathmandu Valley.
