Millennium Challenge Account Nepal has started upgrading the 40km Dhan Khola–Lamahi section of the East-West Highway in Dang. For the first time in Nepal, the project will use Full Depth Reclamation and Superpave construction methods which offer improved durability, sustainability, and cost-effectiveness by reusing existing asphalt, the MCA says. The road will be widened to 12 meters with a 7-meter carriageway. The initiative is co-funded by the government and the US Millennium Challenge Corporation.
