A thangka painting measuring 70 metres by 50 metres was put together by stitching 81 different pieces of fabric at Dasarath Stadium on Friday. Weighing 1900 kilograms the artwork is considered to be the world's largest thangka painting. The event was was organised by the Nepal Council for Preservation of Buddhist Religion in association with the Japan-based (NPO) M21 Network and Nepal Tourism Board.
