The 7.5km North Face Mountain Quest event to mark International Everest Day 2026 on 29 May brought together over 1,000 people at Gokarna Forest Resort. A highlight of the event was the Night Trail Run through the Gokarna forests, which drew over 400 runners. Elite category winners won cash prizes ranging from $100-200, and all finishers received a medal, a The North Face t-shirt and an energy bar. For every completed run, $5 was donated to the Sagarmatha Pollution Control Committee’s Everest clean-up project. The free-to-enter event also featured cultural dances, live music, and a panel discussion with mountaineers Dawa Yangzum Sherpa and Conrad Anker.
