Nepal lost to the host, Bangladesh, by 3-0 in men's football match that took place in Dhaka Saturday evening. Bangladesh scored a goal in the first seven minutes of the game.
Nepal is considered a strong contender in its group that includes Bhutan, Maldives and Bangladesh. Nepal will play against Maldives on 1 February.
Meanwhile, India won the first gold medal of the event in women's cycling.
On Friday, Nepali women's football team defeated Bangladesh by 1-0.
