Weightlifter Kamal Bahadur Adhikari, who won gold in the 10th South Asian Games held in Sri Lanka, had to return empty-hand in the 69kg category in Balgladesh.
While competing on Sunday, Adhikari lifted 117kg in snatch but failed to lift 152 kg in three attempts. He was disqualified. Sri Lanka won the gold.
"I am shocked," said Adhikari after the event. "It was unexpected."
In other categories, India trashed Bangladesh 5-0 in men’s badminton. Pakistan’s Tanvir Ahmen won the first gold in judo (below 81 kgs) defeating Sri Lankan Tsusitha Ranga Fernando.
