Nepal defeated Sri Lanka 8-0 in a women's football match played at Bandabandhu National Stadium on Tuesday.

Captain Jamuna Gurung scored a hat-trick.

Despite taking lead towards the end, Nepali women’s kabbadi team suffered a defeat in the hands of Sri Lankans 24-21. However, in the four-team kabbadi competition, Nepalese girls bagged their first medal in an international match.

In weightlifting, Gopal Bahadur Shrestha failed to win any medal finishing fourth with a total of 264kg lift.

In shooting, Asmita Rai finished fourth in ten-metre women's air-rifle scoring 384 points.

In hockey, Nepal lost to Sri Lanka 15-1, breaking its own record at conceding goals. So far, Nepal has conceded 55 goals in three matches. In the 1995 South Asian Games held, Nepali hockey team had conceded 54 goals in four matches. Nepal is yet to play a match against the host team, Bangladesh.

Deependra Aire became the second hockey player to score in an international match. Rajendra Shrestha had scored a goal for Nepal in 1995 SAG.

Nepali shuttles were also whitewashed on Tuesday. Badminton players, Sarah Devi Tamang, Biskash Shrestha, and Ratnajit lost all of their singles matches.
