The death toll of the Nepal-China floods reached 1,050 on Tuesday, a week since the catastrophic disaster. Some 4,000 people are still unaccounted for, including 583 foreign nationals and at least 639 hydropower workers.
Officials have now started temporary burial of unidentified bodies across the country including in Gokarna in Kathmandu. DNA samples, photographs, and other identifying information were collected before burial so families can later identify and claim the remains for final rites.
