The government has been preparing to allocate 20 per cent of the total budget to the education sector in the fiscal year 2011-12, said Education Minister Gangalal Tuladhar.
During his meeting with the joint delegation of thirteen students' unions at the Ministry on Sunday, Tuladhar said that government was about to increase the budget in the education sector so as to make education accessible to all.
The delegation drew the attention towards the enforcement of the eight-point agreement reached among the students unions, education ministry, and the government recently. The delegation has called for allocating 25 per cent of the total budget to the education sector in the upcoming fiscal year, among other demands.
The Education Minister also promised to make new appointment to the post lying vacant in the universities at earliest as possible."New appointment at the universities has been delayed due to misunderstanding among the parties", he added
