The alliance of parties in the ruling coalition has called off its scheduled programs of mass gatherings across the country . It is a step back taken by Maoist-Madhesi coalition to get the opposition to follow suit by calling off their protest programs as well.
“We have cancelled all our programs and request the opposition to do the same and make environment for a dialogue.”, UCPN-Maoist spokesperson Agni Sapkota informed the journalists outside party office in Paris Dada, where the alliance met on Monday.
The move comes a day after President Ram Baran Yadav met top party leaders and asked them to end the confrontation and seek consensus.
