The Election Commission has said it will start distributing temporary biometric voters' identity cards within the next few days. The printing of ID cards had begun on 27 October.

According to EC's spokesperson Bir Bahadur Rai the cards has reached the final phase and the cards will soon be delivered to all the districts.

Voters will get their ID cards by 18 November, a day before the Constituent Assembly election. The cards are likely to be distributed through volunteers mobilised for voting education, election officers and election offices as there is no enough time for the distribution, the EC spokesperson said, adding voters can also receive cards from the polling centers on the election day as well.

A total of 12,147,865 voters will take part in the Constituent Assembly election scheduled for 19 November.
