A meeting of government coalition partners held at the official residence of the prime minister in Baluwatar on Tuesday agreed to extend the term of the Constituent Assembly (CA) by three months.

Prime Minister, Jhala Nath Khanal, called the meeting to discuss the issue as the extended three month period of the CA is expiring on 31 August.

PM’s press advisor, Surya Thapa, said the parties agreed to extend the CA term by three months, though different proposals were put forth in the meeting by the parties.
