Armed groups to be called for dialogue

The Ministry of Peace and Reconstruction (MoPR) has made preparations to make formal calls to the armed groups that are also involved in criminal activities in different districts of Tarai, to come for dialogue.

According to Minister for Peace and Reconstruction Satya Pahadi, priority will be given to those groups which have been conducting criminal activities with political purpose. Minister Pahadi further said the government will start initiative to solve the problems through dialogue with the groups with complete sincerity.

The government will present itself strongly with the groups operating activities in criminal ways, she added.

Minister Pahadi said the government has requested four groups including Akhil Tarai Mukti Morcha and Janatantrik Tarai Mukti Morch for dialogue. Similarly, various groups including the Kirant and Limbuwan groups which have been operating armed activities in Eastern Tarai were also requested for dialogue.

Pahadi said: "Preparation has been made to start talks with the groups within a week."
