Cadre of CPN-M torched a bus at Dhulikhel today morning for ‘defying’ the party’s banda. The vehicle was on its way from Kathmandu to Melamchi. All passengers are reported to be safe and the police has got the fire under control. The 33 agitating parties called a strike today across 10 districts - including Sindhupalchok, Dolakha, Ramechhap, Sindhuli, Rasuwa, Chitwan, Dhading, Nuwakot and Makwanpur - to demand the postponement of election date.

Banda enforcers also manhandled journalist Dev Raj KC at Banepa for using his motorbike. Life in Banepa has come to a complete standstill due to the strike, there are very few vehicles on the road and few shops have their shutters half open. The party’s central committee member and former district in charge Chudamani Gautam Hemak and 10 others are currently under police custody
