Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai expanded the Council of Ministers on Sunday, adding 13 more members to make it a 15-member cabinet.
Those inducted today include six from UCPN (Maoist) and seven from the United Democratic Madhesi Front (UDMF).
The Maoist ministers
- Narayan Kaji Shrestha: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister
- Posta Bahadur Bogati: Energy Minister
- Barsha Man Pun: Finance Minister
- Top Bahadur Rayamaji: Local Development Minister
- Kamala Rokka: Minister for Youth and Sports
- Prabhu Shah: Minister Land Reforms and Management
The UDMF ministers
- Jaya Prakash Prasad Gupta: Minister for Information and Communications
- Nandan Kumar Dutta: Minister for Agriculture and Cooperatives
- Hridyaesh Tripathi: Minister for Physical Planning and Works, and Law and Justice
- Rajendra Mahato: Minister for Health and Population,
- Mahendra Prasad Yadav: Minister for Irrigation, Women, Children and Social Welfare
- Mohammad Wakil Musalman: Minister for Forest and Soil Conservation
- Raj Lal Yadav: Portfolio undecided
Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai administered the oath of office and secrecy to the newly appointed Deputy Prime Minister and Ministers at a special ceremony in presence of President Ram Baran Yadav, held at the Rastrapati Bhawan, Shital Nibas on Sunday evening.
Present on the occasion were the Vice-president, the Chairperson of the Constituent Assembly, the Heads of Constitutional Bodies, senior government and security officials and political party leaders.
