Bilash Rai, a cartoonist, associated with Himalmedia for over 15 years passed away on Sunday. He was 44.
Rai had been suffering from renal failure and was undergoing treatment at Kalimpong Hospital in Darjeeling, India. A native of Darjeeling, Rai is survived by his wife and daughter.
Rai started his career as a cartoonist with Darjeeling based Sunchari daily and joined Himalmedia in 1999, shortly after the launch of Himal Khabarpatrika. His cartoons have also featured in this weekly. He was known for his sharp illustrations depicting a strong sense of humour and satire.
