A politburo meeting of the CPN (UML) on Saturday decided to form a a separate commission on behalf of the party to determine the party's fresh views on the state restructuring issues, considering the voices of disagreement from the party leaders from the ethnic class and the Madhes background.
"The commission will be formed after the consultations with the dissatisfied leaders," said leader Pradeep Gyawali.
The meeting has prepared a proposal for the party's Central Committee meeting to discuss on the matters relating to intra-party rift and federalism.
Ram Chandra Jha, one of the UML leaders disagreeing with the party's concept on the state restructuring, was present at the politburo meeting. He urged the party leadership to take the issues concerning Madhesis, ethnic groups and backward communities seriously while taking any decision on federalism.
"Though the role of the party in the constitution-drafting is not satisfactory. We have not quit the party but a trust deficit within the party has emerged", said Jha after the meeting.
