The Finance Committee of the Legislature-Parliament has given directive to the National Planning Commission (NPC) to prepare the budget for the next fiscal year so that it is not frozen.

The Committee issued such directive keeping into consideration the situation of huge amount of budget likely to be frozen this fiscal year.

The meeting of the Committee held on Thursday said the budget was likely to be frozen as it is brought without preparing a systematic plan and the transfer of the budget funds has increased. The lawmakers also suggested that the NPC should work actively not to repeat the previous year's problem of budget freeze and transfer of the budget fund.

The meeting also concluded that the NPC should complete the old and new projects by holding discussions with different ministries not to let the budget to freeze as the problem appeared due to lack of expenditure of funds under the capital expenditure head.

The meeting also directed the government to resume the projects that are run by transfering the budget funds and also not to discriminate in allocation of budget to different districts in the next budget.
