The selection process for the integration of the ex-combatants of the Unified CPN (Maoist) in the Nepal Army (NA) has been put off.

The integration process of the ex-rebels in the NA was stalled after a dispute surfaced over the difference in the names of ex-combatants in the UNMIN verification, academic qualification and citizenship certificates.

The integration process was also affected as the form provided for the integration of the ex-rebels in the NA was found to be of different criteria than those fixed by the political parties.

Likewise, the age of some of the combatants was also found to be below or above fixed criteria, according to NA sources.

The integration process of the ex-combatants began on Wednesday in all the seven camps across the country. A total of 3,123 ex-combatants have opted for integration into the NA.
