The Government has constituted a three-member judicial investigation commission to investigate into the death of Nepal Tarun Dal’s Chitwan District chapter President Shiva Paudel.

An emergency meeting of the Council of Ministers held at the Prime Minister’s residence at Baluwatar on Saturday evening constituted the judicial commission under the former justice at the Supreme Court Mohan Prakash Sitaula.

Other members of the commission are Joint Attorney Krishna Prasad Paudel and Deputy Inspector General of Police Bigyan Raj Sharma, Finance Minister Barshaman Pun informed journalists after the Cabinet meeting.

The Council of Ministers also decided to provide Rs. 1 million to the family of the deceased in the form of relief assistance. It requested the Nepali Congress to withdraw all programmes of protest including shut down that the party has called for to protest Paudel’s death.

Paudel who was critically injured in a clash inside a prison some days back in Chitwan died this morning at the Neuro Hospital here in course of treatment. The Nepal Tarun Dal is the youth wing of the Nepali Congress.

Meanwhile, dozens of vehicles have been vandalised during the banda on Saturday called by Tarun Dal.
