Leaders of the three big parties met President Dr Ram Baran Yadav at Shital Niwas this morning to discuss ways to resolve the current political stalemate.
Caretaker Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal, Maoist chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal, NC president Sushil Koirala and UML chairman Jhalanath Khanal went to Shital Niwas for a meeting that lasted over two hours.
UML chairman Khanal told journalists that they discussed issues of government formation, constitution drafting and peace process with the President.
NC president Koirala said that President Yadav urged the parties to reach an understanding soon and end the impasse. Koirala also said that the leaders of the three parties restated their commitment to forge consensus.
