Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister, Krishna Bahadur Mahara has resigned from his post on Monday.
Deputy Prime Minister Mahara handed over his resignation letter to Prime Minister Jhala Nath Khanal today afternoon, according to Mahara's Press Assistant, Manoj Ghartimagar.
Deputy Prime Minister Mahara is believed to have resigned in order to pave the way for the new team selected by his party's Central Committee to join the present Government.
Mahara was leading the UCPN (Maoist) team in the present Government led by Khanal.
