The three-day central committee meeting of the Maoists concluded today, endorsing the integrated political paper presented by party chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal. The meeting held at the party headquarters in Koteshwor. The standing committee has been assigned to decide on further work strategy and work allocation.
Party Spokesperson Dina Nath Sharma informed that some central members including Vice-Chairman Babu Ram Bhattarai wrote notes of dissent showing disagreement to the spirit of the proposals presented. Speaking in Tuesday's meeting, Bhattarai had said that writing a pro-people constitution and concluding the peace process should be the primary aim of the party at present and that the revolt plan is untimely given the current political dynamics.
The meeting decided to take initiative for the formation of a government under its own leadership and intensify political discussion for UNMIN term extension until the completion of the remaining portion of the peace process. However, the meeting did not decide which party leader will assume the leadership of the government.
The Maoists will launch an internal political orientation January 17 through January 31.
The CC meet also decided to wage a nationwide movement from March to ensure peace, constitution and protect national sovereignty
