The meeting of the central committee of the Unified CPN (Maoist) began at the party's central office in Parisdanda, Koteshwar this afternoon.
The meeting was scheduled to start at 11am but was delayed due to lack of internal preparations. A meeting of the party's office-bearers held earlier today had fixed the agenda for the central committee meeting.
The UCPN (Maoist)'s central committee meeting is being held for the first time after the Sixth Expanded Plenum of the party held in Palungtar, Gorkha, from 21-28 November.
Party chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal is expected to present an integrated document in the central committee meeting by incorporating the suggestions forwarded at the Palungtar plenum by vice-chairmen Mohan Baidya and Baburam Bhattarai, and the members of the party's different state committees.
A source in the party said the central committee meeting will also discuss how the party is to present itself in the special session of the Legislature-Parliament on 19 December.
