A meeting of the leaders of the two parties in the ruling alliance—the Unified CPN (Maoist) and the United Democratic Madhesi Front (UDMF)—held at the prime minister’s residence in Baluwater on Tuesday decided to defend the four-point agreement.
The leaders of the ruling parties have agreed to retaliate against the allegation by some parties that the four-point agreement signed between them before the formation of the present government as anti-national.
According to Ram Rijhan Yana, the prime minister’s press advisor, the leaders had a meeting of minds on the ways of defending the four-point deal and strongly repudiating the allegations against it.
He said in the meeting the leaders also had an exchange of views on the activities of the government.
UCPN (Maoist) chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal, Prime Minister and party vice-chairman Baburam Bhattarai and the top leaders of the ruling parties attended the meeting.
