Leaders of UCPN-Maoist held a discussion on what sort of political report could be prepared for central committee meeting of the party to be held on 22 December.

At the discussion held at the Prime Minister’s residence, Baluwatar on Saturday, party Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal said he would devote to unite the party and hold discussion with the faction led by Vice-Chairman Mohan Baidya for this cause.

According to politburo member Gopal Kirati, Chairman Dahal assured that the party would conclude the peace process and constitution writing at any cost to prevent any counter-revolution.

Chairman Dahal and Vice-Chairman and Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai were assigned to hold talks with the Baidya faction before holding the central committee meeting.

Politburo member Kirati said they decided to emerge defensive against Vice-Chairman Baidya on political and ideological grounds because the Baidya faction was pushing the party into difficulties and trying to serve the interests of foreign and counterrevolutionary forces.

Vice-Chairman and Prime Minister Bhattarai said all strategies must be utilised to unite the party and include the disgruntling factions.
