Limbuwan State Council has called a strike in nine districts of Mechi and Koshi zones today onwards, demanding unconditional release of its leaders and cadres.
The bandh affected life in Sunsari, Morang, Jhapa, Ilam, Panchthar and Dhankuta.
Limbuwan State Counci has warned of an indefinite bandh if its central members Indra Rasaeli and Chandra Singh Nembang, District Vice-Chairman Phaud Singh Chongbang, Senior Field Commander of Limbuwan Volunteer Dhankuta, Gangahang Tigela and member Niraj Shrestha are not released.
They had been arrested for setting a micro bus (Ko 1 Kha 2850) on fire for defying their strike, called against the decision to issue voter's card on the basis of citizenship cards.
