Prime Minster Baburam Bhattarai inducted three more ministers into his cabinet Sunday, making it the biggest cabinet in the history. The number of ministers in the cabinet has reached 49.

The country saw four governments after the CA election. The first government was formed under the leadership of the Maoist Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal which had only 24-member cabinet. UML leader Madhav Kumar Nepal led the next government after Dahal resigned, which had 45 ministers. The next government was formed under the leadership of UML Chairman Jhalanath Khanal, which had 39 ministers. Sher Bahadur Deuba had the biggest cabinet having 48 ministers in 1996 when there was a hung parliament.

Bhattarai administered the oath of office and secrecy to Om Prakash Yadav, Khobhari Raya, Sarita Kumari Sah as state minister for agriculture, industries and women and children respectively.
