Nepali Congress has hinted that it is open for the revival of the Constituent Assembly, provided it paves way for a national unity government.

In a central-committee meeting at its party headquarters in Sanepa on Thursday, general secretary Krishna Prasad Sitaula tabled a proposal which hinted at CA revival, and a change in the government towards one of ‘national consensus’, if there was agreement on all contentious issues.

The proposal also concludes that another CA election must take place within April in order to announce the constitution from the CA. Earlier, the NC had been saying that there was no point in reviving the CA past its expiry date.
