Fifty-five district-committee chairpersons of the Nepali Congress met President Ram Baran Yadav on Friday at Sital Niwas and expressed concern about the political deadlock and constitutional crisis in the country. Requesting him to safeguard the constitution and influence political solution in his capacity as head-of-state, they also drew the president's attention to the difficulties surrounding the general elections and the government's insistence on ruling through ordinances.
According to Jagadishwor Narsingh KC, the NC district chairperson of Nuwakot, the president replied that all his actions would be within constitutional limits and suggested the parties to act similarly. He also underlined the need for political consensus among parties for any solution to the stalemate.
