A meeting between officials of the Nepali Congress has deemed the ethnicity-related issues raised by some leaders within the party as legitimate.
This decision comes after some Janajati party leaders had brought up demands of ethnic states, federalism and rights for ethnic groups, and were readying themselves to leave the party.
Also, a committee under the leadership of Bhim Bahadur Tamang submitted a proposal that assessed these demands to the central committee today.
The central committee then decided that all issues would be dealt with democratically, and solutions would be sought by consultations within the party.
