The Nepali Congress has issued a whip to its members of the parliament to vote against the proposal tabled by the UCPN (Maoist) and others at the special session of Legislature-Parliament. The proposal will call for an amendment to parliament regulations in order to put an end to the PM elections and begin a fresh process.

The meeting of the NC Parliamentary Party held on Saturday at its office at Singha Durbar decided to vote against the proposal as the UCPN (Maoist) had taken the initiative to convene the special session without any consensus, spokesperson of NC Parliamentary Party, Nabindra Raj Joshi said. He added that the Congress parliamentarians have been urged to vote against the proposal as the candidacy of NC leader Ram Chandra Poudel for the post of prime ministers is still effective.
