Central member of Nepali Congress Ram Sharan Mahat has denied the agreement reached to form a Maoist-led government with support of the Nepali Congress.
Speaking at a face-to-face discussion organised by Reporters' Club Nepal on Saturday, he said that NC continues to stand by its position of not joining a Maoist-led government until concrete development was made to resolve the contentious issues like integration and rehabilitation of the Maoist combatants and returning the seized property.
"The Maoists have not shown any commitment to enforcing the agreements reached in the past, so there is no question of a government being formed under its leadership," Mahat claimed.
However, he made it clear that if the Maoist party distance itself from weapons and army and join peaceful politics then the NC would have no objection in becoming a part of a Maoist-led government
