On 28 June, the Royal Albert Hall in South London is all set to be filled with melodies from Nepal. For the first time, 17 Nepali singers and musicians will be performing at the famed venue for a charity show 'An Evening for Gorkha, Charity for the Earthquake Victims of Nepal' organised by the Help Nepal Network UK.
Artists including Jems Pradhan, Om Bikram Bista, Deep Shrestha, Trishna Gurung, Sujil Karmacharya and Yogeshwor Amatya will be singing their hearts out to raise money for the earthquake victims.
Founder of Help Nepal Network, Rabindra Mishra believes that the charity show will create history. According to him, a Nepali artists' concert was planned at the hall since last year but the recent earthquake made it easier to lease the concert hall. Organisers believe that Nepalis from all over Europe will participate in the event. "We believe that both Nepalis and foreigners will support this event," says singer Yogeshwor Amatya.
Nepali organisations in the UK have all come together to, potentially, make this show a success. The concert tickets are available at Royal Albert Hall's website.
Since its opening in 1871, world's leading artists including Frank Sinatra, The Beatles, Led Zepplin, Eric Clapton and Elton John have performed at this hall.
