Nepathya has enthralled thousands of Nepalis residing in the UK by performing at the O2 Academy Brixton.

Right from when the Nepali folk rock band's frontman Amrit Gurung started singing in a house packed with more than 4,000 people, the audience sang, danced and clapped along with him.

The concert started with a new song from Nepathya's unreleased 10th album: "Kuroop anuhar ho….Yahan kohi saathi chhain."

defGurung also sang Nainataala, Koshiko Paani and Rama Rama from the same unreleased album. Nepathya's other popular songs like Chhekyo Chhekyo also left the audience craving for more.

The new song Nainataala was dedicated to the Lahure community and the 200 years celebration of the UK- Nepal relationship. "Britain and Nepal have been friends for a long time, and I congratulate peoples of the two countries

on this occasion" said Gurung as he sang Nainataala.

This is the second time Nepathya has performed in the UK. In 2013, Nepathya had created a history by performing in the UK's famous Wembly arena.

"I was there at Wembley two years ago and now I am watching Nepathya here. I must say the band and their show has gotten better," said Sameeta Shrestha, a Nepali youth living in the UK.

Although the audience had mostly Nepalis, some foreigners had also turned up to enjoy Nepathya's concert. Wilko Verbekal had travelled all the way from Amsterdam to London for Nepathya's show. He said: "I have been attending Nepathya concerts in Nepal and in Europe since2003, and it is hard to distinguish which song is old and which is new, the crowd picks up all new songs so quickly."

The show was organised and coordinated by the UK based Elyte Events. "We regularly organize events in the UK, but the response Nepathya got is beyond comparison," said Bijay Gurung of the organising team.

Gurung was accompanied on stage by his band members Dhurba Lama on drums, Suraj Thapa on Keyboards, Subin Shakya on Bass, Niraj Gurung on Guitars and

Shanti Rayamajhi on Madal.
