US Ambassador to Nepal, Peter W. Bodde arrived in Kathmandu on Saturday afternoon. A career diplomat in Senior Foreign Service, Bodde has worked in countries like Malawi, Pakistan, Bulgaria Denmark, India and Germany.

The newly appointed envoy landed in Kathmandu a day after his government removed UCPN-Maoist from their list of terrorist organizations. Before being assigned to Nepal, Bodde was Assistant Chief of Mission for Transitional Assistance in Iraq. He replaces Scott H DeLisi who became popular among Nepalis for his active opposition to strikes called by political parties.
