Nidhi and Swaraj discussed 'the exchange of high-level visits', according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He also held a separate meeting with India's Home Minister Rajnath Singh.
Nidhi is in New Delhi to invite India's President Pranab Mukherjee to Nepal and lay the groundwork for Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal's India visit, followed by President Bidya Bhandari's, visit later this year.
Nidhi had left for India on Thursday as a special envoy of PM Dahal. Shortly after being elected as the PM for the second time, Dahal had decided to send Nidhi to New Delhi, and another Deputy PM Krishna Bahadur Mahara to Beijing, to strengthen Nepal's diplomatic ties with its two big neighbours.
Mahara, for his part, has invited Chinese President Xi Jinping to visit Nepal later this year.
