2 October, Rato Pati
During a press conference at the CPN-M's office in Buddhanagar on Wednesday afternoon, chairman Mohan Baidya accused the four party syndicate for deliberately conspiring to keep agitating parties out of the election process and said there remained no possibility of further talks. Excerpts from the press release:
- The ordinance issued by the president on 14 March 2013 at the recommendation of the four parties is unconstitutional, anti-people, and anti-country.
- The conspiracy of top leaders of the four parties and imperialist and expansionist forces to portray our party as opposers of the CA, peace, and talks lays exposed.
- During our discussion with the four parties on 22 August, we had come to an agreement to organise a roundtable-meet. But due to interference from foreign powers, leaders abruptly backed out from the agreement. Similarly during the 19-party meeting organised by the president on 13 September, everyone present had responded positively to our four-point demands and we had managed to reach an ideological agreement. On 15 September, however, leaders of the main parties once again pulled out due to the involvement of foreign hands. These incidents prove that leaders of the big three party along with the Madhesi Morcha are anti-agreement, anti-peace, and middlemen of foreign powers.
- The decision of the puppet government to mobilise the Army for elections violates the Comprehensive Peace Accord, derails the peace process, and puts the country in the path of a future conflict. We strongly oppose such fascist steps meant to Sikkimise Nepal. All patriots, republicans, and leftist forces need to come together during this time of need to protect Nepal's independence. We also strongly request the security forces to remain on the people's side and help safeguard the country's sovereignty from brokers of foreign powers.
- The CPN-M and the 33 party alliance will launch a strong and effective movement to boycott the bogus elections.
- We fully support the ten day long Nepal banda (11-20 November) and various protest programs organised by our party and the 33 party alliance and promise to carry them out with full force.
- We will carry on our street struggle to guarantee the independence of the country, to protect federal and republican ideals, as well as to improve the condition of farmers, labourers, women, Dalits, Janajatis, Madhesis, Muslims and other Nepalis from backward and margninalised communities.
- The current government is under the complete control of foreign powers. We must topple this fascist, anti-people administration and set up a new government made up of patriots, republicans, and leftist forces.
- Some foreign diplomats have been violating protocols and meddling in our internal affairs, we take such matters very seriously and warn officials to stop all such activities.
