President Ram Baran Yadav has called on the political parties to elect the prime minister and form a government within 21 January based on political consensus as per the Clause 1 of the Article 38 of the Interim Constitution of Nepal 2063.

The Speaker of the Legislature-Parliament had briefed the President about the termination of prime ministerial election with the withdrawal of all proposals for the post in the Legislature-Parliament.

Earlier also President Dr Yadav had called on the parties in the Legislature-Parliament to form a government on the basis of the political consensus after Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal resigned from the post on 30 June but the parties had failed to form the government.
